RE: Brief under the general order of reference on energy, the environment, natural resources and climate change: the Kivalliq line at 0.51 per cent federal, and building on thawing permafrost
Hello,
I demand that the Government of Canada take the Kivalliq off diesel by 2030: decide by 31 March 2027 to fund the construction of the Kivalliq Hydro-Fibre Link, pay at least 50% of its cost, list it under the Building Canada Act in 2027, and require the Canadian permafrost standards for every federal contribution to construction on permafrost from 1 April 2027.
The attached supplement adds Order P.C. 2026-925 of 1 October 2026: the Government listed an oil pipeline, with its power transmission, as a project of national interest 91 days after the proposal, while the line that ends diesel in 5 communities has not been referred. The supplement contains no hyperlinks.
Distribute the brief of 30 September 2026 and the attached supplement to the members, and confirm the date of distribution in writing by 30 October 2026.
Respectfully,
Danilo Dzyuban
