Brief for the study "Affordability Challenges in Northern Canada": the Nunavut-Manitoba road, studied in 2010, 0 km built
Hello,
The brief follows below. It is submitted to the study "Affordability Challenges in Northern Canada", which the Committee heard on 24 September 2026.
The brief concerns one cause of the cost of living in the Kivalliq region of Nunavut that the Government of Canada has measured itself: the absence of a road. The Business Case Study of 26 February 2010 puts the effect of the road at a cost of living lower by 24 per cent. 16 years later no kilometre stands.
Distribute the brief to the members of the Committee before the report on the study is drafted.
Confirm in writing, by 9 October 2026, the date of distribution to the members and the date of publication on the page of the study.
Respectfully,
Danilo Dzyuban
