Request under the Access to Information Act — sex-disaggregated custody rates, Table 35-10-0030-01
Hello,
This is a request under the Access to Information Act.
I am a person present in Canada and entitled to make this request under subsection 4(1) of the Act as extended by the Access to Information Act Extension Order, No. 1.
Period covered: 1 January 2015 to the date this request is processed.
I request the following records:
1. Any internal analysis computing the rate of custodial sentences by the sex of the accused while controlling for offence category, prior criminal record, or plea, drawn from the Integrated Criminal Court Survey or from Table 35-10-0030-01.
2. Any request received from another federal department, agency, or from a parliamentary body, for such an analysis, and the response given.
3. Any record explaining why published tables present sex of accused and offence category as separate dimensions without a published joint control for prior record and plea.
4. Any record of a decision not to publish an analysis of sex-based differences in sentencing outcomes.
Please exclude media monitoring and material already published on your website.
If no records responsive to any numbered item exist, I request that your response state that expressly, item by item.
I request a waiver of the application fee under subsection 11(6) of the Act. I receive social assistance under the Ontario Works Act and have no discretionary income. If the waiver is refused, tell me how to pay and I will pay the fee. If it is refused, I request the reasons in writing together with the criteria applied.
I prefer to receive records electronically.
Respectfully,
Danilo Dzyuban
